The supreme collegial body where the university's strategic decisions are made.

The Academic Council is the highest collegial governing body of Navoiy State University, taking strategic decisions across the university's academic, research, spiritual-enlightenment and personnel domains. The Council is chaired by the Rector, and its resolutions are binding on all structural units of the university.

The Council approves curricula and study programmes, issues recommendations on the conferment of academic titles, conducts competitive elections of faculty members, and defines the priority directions of the university's development. Sessions are held regularly according to a monthly schedule.

Key functions of the Council

Governing the academic process
Reviews and approves curricula, study programmes and proposals to open new fields of study, and regularly evaluates the quality of education.
Academic titles and recommendations
Issues recommendations on conferring the academic titles of associate professor and professor, discusses research outcomes and prepares recommendations for publications.
Personnel and competitive selection
Conducts competitive elections for faculty positions and decides on the election of heads of departments.
Strategic development
Reviews the university's development strategy, annual reports and budget priorities, and endorses international cooperation initiatives.
